We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

"Scripting with the solution is good.""The features that I appreciate are quite basic. It is easy to ramp up the threads and start calling the application. A lot of connectors can already be found within Apache JMeter, but we are not using the entire set because the integration between the customers and platform is based on HTTP. We are just going to produce lots of HTTP sequences.""The most valuable features are the integration with Jenkins and the reporting.""The recording and playback functionality is helpful.""A lot of things are valuable. It is free. It has a lot of features, such as report generation and integration with CI/CD, which makes it very competitive with the other paid solutions available in the market. It is a good solution.""We appreciate that the solution is free to use, as an open-source tool.""The performance of the solution is excellent.""The reports and analysis tools are very good. They are the solution's most valuable features."

"The solution can handle a huge amount of workloads, it's quite scalable.""I think that analytics is very good and that the analytics features are very powerful.""Paramterization and correlation are important features.""What we like the most is that it integrates with UC.""It has good protocol coverage.""The reporting mechanism is a valuable feature that generates good reports.""The most useful aspect of the solution is that it provides agents in different geographic locations.""The most important feature for us is that it supports a lot of protocols because we support all of them, including HTTP, FTP, mainframe, and others."

"The reporting is not very good.""It has some proxy-based dependencies which require specific proxies to be set up or disabled, which causes problems.""I sometimes found the documentation to be not as explanatory as I would've liked it. In the cases that I can think of, I was looking for a rather hand-holding approach with Step A, B, and C, but then I realized that with a product that is open source like this, you can't do handholding. That is because there are so many different uses and different unique environments and setups for it, but I remember thinking a few times that if they only just said this.""The installation needs some work. It could be simplified.""It should start supporting the presentation layer. It currently provides performance testing specifically at the application and API level. It can be extended to the presentation layer, which includes mainly Angular and React frameworks. It should also be easy to use and easy to train people.""It's not easy to get the data from one place or to do customizations.""The plug-ins make the reports heavy and they have to be run in non-GUI mode.""We're like the solution to be more user-friendly."

More Apache JMeter Cons »

"I would like to see better-licensing costs.""The solution is very costly. The cost is very high, especially considering a lot of other resources are available now and they are less expensive. For a small organization, it is very difficult to sustain the costs involved in having the solution or the related fees""The product is pretty heavy and should be more lightweight.""I would like to have better support for adding more users per load generator.""The debugging capability should be improved.""We are going to continue to use the product in the future, I recommend this product. However, those who are looking for only REST-based on the API, I would recommend some other tool because of the cost. There are others available on the market.""Licensing costs could be reduced.""The product is not stable and reliable in the version we are currently using."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"I haven't looked into it. Most of our projects are nonprofit or grant-based. Everything is public commons, so we don't really have to worry about that so much.""We are using the free version, and if required, we can easily switch to the other version.""When comparing the price with Load Runner, and if the cost is an issue then JMeter is a better choice""In terms of open-source adoption, it is completely free.""I was using the free version of the software.""This is an open-source product."

More Apache JMeter Pricing and Cost Advice »

"This is not a cheap product.""There is a licensing cost that is expensive.""It is competing with other products that may cost significantly less or may be available as open-source. Because of that it is relatively expensive.""The licensing fees are based on the number of users.""LoadRunner Professional is an expensive product."
