Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The most important features are the intrusion prevention engine and the application visibility and control. The Snort feature in Firepower is also valuable.""The implementation is pretty straightforward.""Another benefit has been user integration. We try to integrate our policies so that we can create policies based on active users. We can create policies based on who is accessing a resource instead of just IP addresses and ports.""Provides good integrations and reporting.""The integration of network and workload micro-segmentation helps a lot to provide unified segmentation policies across east-west and north-south traffic. One concrete example is with Cisco ACI for the data center. Not only are we doing what is called a service graph on the ACI to make sure that we can filter traffic east-west between two endpoints in the same network, but when we go north-south or east-west, we can then leverage what we have on the network with SGTs on Cisco ISE. Once you build your matrix, it is very easy to filter in and out on east-west or north-south traffic.""The most valuable feature is the access control list (ACL).""If configured, Firepower provides us with application visibility and control.""There are no issues that we are aware of. It does its job silently in the background."

"The most valuable feature is the integration into the overall cloud platform.""I can easily configure it.""I like its order management feature. It doesn't have the kind of threat intelligence that Palo Alto has, but the order management makes it much simpler to know the difference.""The Layer four features are okay and meet my business needs.""I think that one of the best features is definitely the premium version, along with the IDPs in terms of the intrusion detection and prevention system.""Performance and stability are the key features of this product.""The most valuable feature is threat intelligence. It is based on filtering and can identify multiple threats.""The solution is very stable. When comparing it to other environments, it's actually quite impressive."

"Content filtering and intrusion prevention are most valuable. Our customers are fully satisfied with the performance of Sophos. It has all the features that they require in a firewall.""It is very easy to configure and straightforward. The firewall rules are straightforward. It works great out of the box. It has been working as advertised, and I haven't had any issues with it.""Definitely, its usability is very good, and it's a very robust firewall.""Compared to other firewalls that I had looked at, I thought Sophos was the better solution. It just seems to be easier to manage versus Cisco, Fortinet, or one of the other options I was looking at.""Great interface and in-built help is very intuitive.""It is stable, flexible, and easy to use. It has got a web management portal that can be accessed from anywhere.""It is feature-rich, I like the server authentication, and the reports are good.""It is simple to use."

Cons
"We cannot have virtual domains, which we can create with FortiGate. This is something they should add in the future. Additionally, there is a connection limit and the FMC could improve.""The initial setup could be simplified, as it can be complex for new users.""Implementations require the use of a console. It would help if the console was embedded.""In a future release, it would be ideal if they could offer an open interface to other security products so that we could easily connect to our own open industry standard.""One feature I would like to see, that Firepower doesn't have, is email security. Perhaps in the future, Cisco will integrate Cisco Umbrella with Firepower. I don't see why we should have to pay for two separate products when both could be integrated in one box.""An area of improvement for this solution is the console visualization.""It would be great if some of the load times were faster.""The solution could offer better control that would allow the ability to restrictions certain features from a website."

"You have to have a defined IP range within your network to associate it with your network. The problem is you have to plan ahead of time if you expect to use the firewall in the future so that you don't have to reconfigure your subnets or that specific IP range. Other than that, I don't any issues. I use it for basic configuration for a single application, so I really don't try to leverage it for multiple applications where I might find some complexity or challenges.""The reporting, logging, and monitoring features, as well as the flexibility of the policies, need to be improved.""It is a cloud service, but the lending speed for each region is not always the same. For example, in China, the speed is slow. They need to think about how to make sure that the service pace or speed is always the same in all regions. It would be a great improvement if they can provide the same pace worldwide.""The product could be made more customizable.""The interface could be improved, it's not very user friendly.""We find it's different implementing it region-to-region. It might help if it was universal across all regions.""The solution lacks artificial intelligence and machine learning. It might be in the roadmap. However, currently, it's not available.""It needs a lot of improvement, especially on intruder detection. They are working hard on that."

More Azure Firewall Cons »

"Even though things work on the back end, we have encountered bugs in the solution.""The solution could improve by making the graphical interface better and increasing the performance.""The reports could improve, they do not seem complete and more information could be added.""Technical support can be slow to respond, which is something that should be improved.""Recently, I've had a problem with updating things.""The MTR feature needs enhancing.""The solution could offer a bit more integration with other systems, with other platforms - just to be able to extend the capability and to interface with other kinds of platforms or systems that I can find on the market as it gives the possibility to improve the level of integration.""Some businesses require Dynamic IP. This feature would be useful if it worked."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"The price of Firepower is not bad compared to other products.""This product is expensive.""It definitely competes with the other vendors in the market.""When we are fighting against other competitors for customers, whether it is a small or big business, we feel very comfortable with the price that Firepower has today.""Its pricing is good and competitive. There is a maintenance cost. It includes SecureX that makes it cost-effective as compared to the other solutions where you have to pay for XDR and SOAR capabilities.""The price for Firepower is more expensive than FortiGate. The licensing is very complex. We usually ask for help from Solutel because of its complexity. I have a Cisco account where I can download the VPN client, then connect. Instead, I create an issue with Solutel, then Solutel solves the case.""For me, personally, as an individual, Cisco Firepower NGFW Firewall is expensive.""When we purchased the firewall, we had to take the security license for IPS, malware protection, and VPN. If we are using high availability, we have to take a license for that. We also have to pay for hardware support and technical support. Its licensing is on a yearly basis."

"Azure Firewall is quite an expensive product.""It is pay-as-you-go. So, you pay based on the usage. If I remember it well, there is a basic fee, and there is a traffic fee. It is not per month. It is per hour or something like that. It is not so expensive.""The licensing module is good.""Azure Firewall is more expensive. If Microsoft can make Azure Firewall cheaper, I can see that all clients will think of using it. One client used FortiGate because it is much cheaper. Some clients ask me for Cisco, but in the cloud estimate, I found its cost is the same as Azure Firewall.""The total cost of ownership is much less than Palo Alto, Cisco, or any other brand."

More Azure Firewall Pricing and Cost Advice »

"We generally buy it for a three-year license.""The price is reasonable in my opinion.""It is not very expensive.""The price is reasonable""The price is not reasonable.""The cost could be lower especially if you want to add other features.""The solution is priced well.""There is a license required for this solution that is priced well and all the features are included."
