Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Azure Monitor is really just a source for Dynatrace. It's just collecting data and monitoring the environment and the infrastructure. It is fairly good at that.""Provides an overview and high-level information.""The most valuable feature is that it ensures our servers are up.""The solution works well overall. It's easy to implement and simple to use.""We like this searchability and availability of the data.""The solution is quite stable.""Good load and metrics gathering and very good analysis.""The most valuable feature is that it's stable. It hasn't crossed any thresholds."

"The most valuable feature is the dashboards that are provided out of the box, as well as ones we were able to configure.""I have found some of the most valuable features to be the way things all come together that gives us a point of view that is useful. The panel is very beautiful and customizable.""Having a wealth of information has helped us investigate outages, and having historical data helps us tune our system.""The solution is sufficiently stable.""Datadog has given us near-live visibility across our entire cloud platform.""The most valuable features are logging, the extensive set of integrations, and easy jumpstart.""The most valuable features are the dashboards and the reporting.""Datadog's ability to group and visualize the servers and the data makes it relatively easy for the root cause analysis."

Cons
"In my opinion, they should improve the overall user experience, especially when it comes to indexing and searching collective logs.""Automation related to gathering metrics from more applications could be improved.""There are a lot of things that take more time to do, such as charting, alerting, and correlation of data, and things like that. Azure Monitor doesn't tell you why something happened. It just tells you that it happened. It should also have some type of AI. Environments and applications are becoming more and more complex every day with hundreds or thousands of microservices. Therefore, having to do a lot of the stuff manually takes a lot of time, and on top of that, troubleshooting issues takes a lot of time. The traditional method of troubleshooting doesn't really work for or apply to this environment we're in. So, having an AI-based system and the ability to automate deployments of your monitoring and configurations makes it much easier.""When something goes down, we want the option to have automation in place to get it back up again as quickly as possible.""The troubleshooting logs need improvement. There should be some improvement there. I have a hard time finding the right logs at the right times whenever there is an issue occurring.""The price could be lower but it is not a must.""I'd like the solution to do more around vulnerability assessment. It's lacking in the product right now.""Lacks information including details related to where problems lie."

"It could use some additional features when working with metrics like Grafana or like New Relic has. Datadog does not use library technologies like Dynatrace does. Datadog has machine learning too, but it does not have this option in all layers of monitoring like infrastructure service process in applications.""Datadog has a lot of documentation, but a lot of that documentation assumes you know how the service works, which can lead to confusion.""While I like the ease of use, when compared with Tenable Nessus they could still improve their usability.""The pricing model could be simplified as it feels a bit outdated, especially when you look at the billing model of compute instances vs the containers instances.""Datadog does not have the feature where you can monitor external websites or check the SSL secure for websites.""Once agents are connected to the Datadog portal, we should be able to upgrade them quickly.""The installation is easy for me. However, if you are new to this solution it might not be so easy.""We have recently had a number of issues with stability and delays on logging, monitoring, metric evaluation, and alerts."

  • "It didn't scale well from the cost perspective. We had a custom package deal."
  • "The price is better than some competing products."
  • "Pricing is somewhat affordable compared to other solutions but in order to really lower the costs of other products you need to plan very carefully your resources usage, otherwise, it can get expensive real quick."
  • "It is easy to run up a large bill, so become familiar with the cost of each piece of your bill and use the metrics they supply to estimate and monitor your bill."
  • "Pricing seemed easy until the bill came in and some things were not accounted for."
  • "The cost is high and this can be justified if the scale of the environment is big."

  • "If you do your homework, you'll find that if you're really concerned with cost, it's good."
