Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"Cisco has always been a premium product. There's a lot of other entry-level solutions. This is more robust.""It covers everything we need it to without looking to secondary solutions.""The technical is excellent.""The capabilities for scalability with this product are huge""We are able to filter a lot of traffic especially when a lot of the traffic is in layer 7.""The hardware is pretty stable. It's also a very good product performance-wise. Initially, it wasn't mature like a firewall and there were other leaders, but now they have included almost all the features of next-generation security. Basically, it's a good product to work with.""One of the main features is that the hardware is extremely reliable.""One of the valuable features of the solution is its flexibility and it performs great."

"It provides a comprehensive, detailed view of network activity and whatever is happening inside it.""It is a very simple product to use.""The ability to detect activity on the network is very useful to us. Even if it's not necessarily an illegal activity, if it is abnormal activity, it is able to detect it and notify us.""AI analytics are built directly into the product.""I have found the most valuable features to be artificial intelligence for cybersecurity, advanced machine learning capabilities, enterprise Immune System, Antigena Network, and Antigena Email. The way the solution detects the threat over the network before it spreads is very good. It notifies you of what the threat is exactly doing and gives you all the details about the execution of that application that had created the threat over your network.""The Dynamic Threat Dashboard is very nice, as it lists all of your threats and rates them, and then you can choose whether to investigate further.""Artificial intelligence and machine learning functionalities are valuable.""It is very stable and easy to use."

Cons
"The company needs to make its solution more affordable to make it more accessible to larger markets. Otherwise, it's seen as an enterprise-level solution that small or medium-sized organizations can't afford and therefore they won't even look at it.""The configuration should be easier in the solution.""With respect to user-friendliness, it is a command-line interface and those with such experience will get along just fine, whereas others may struggle.""There could be a bit more functions on offer that could make it easier to use.""I would love it if it has a link-by-link feature, integration with Unified Threat Management (UTM), and load balancers. They haven't got any link-by-link feature right now, which can be a very attractive option. This link-by-link feature can also be made available for Cisco's UTM firewalls. The link-by-link feature is available in some of the other firewalls. Currently, integration with UTM is missing. Cisco IOS Security also doesn't have the load balancers and a few things that need to be done to get a good UTM firewall. Normally, other firewalls have UTM. As a next-generation firewall, it's good, but as a UTM, it has to do some work.""The pricing is the only con for this product.""The user interface needs to be improved.""It would be ideal if the solution had more capacity."

More Cisco IOS Security Cons »

"The product doesn't have an endpoint agent that can react to triggers set on the device,""It would be helpful if they could recognize incidents and simplify the customer's challenge to identify what is happening.""Getting logs from different sources can be a challenge.""The interface and dashboards could be improved for ease-of-use.""In terms of improvements, fine-tuning is the area where we have to spend some time because it works on unsupervised machine learning. It would be good if they can improve their algorithm or technical functionality to reduce the fine-tuning effort. They can also come up with something at the endpoint level. So far, Darktrace has been a network detection response (NDR) solution. It does not offer much at the endpoint level or on user-client devices or servers. There should be more visibility at the endpoint level. It would be good to have the detection and response at the endpoint level by Darktrace. It should also have integration with an agile environment so that we can have continuous development and continuous integration in the application development environment. This is currently not there. It should also have internet-facing platform visibility, which is currently missing. They also need to improve the reporting and management dashboards. Currently, these are not so easy for a non-technical person. All these features would make Darktrace much better, and they would also be helpful in selling more solutions.""This is quite an expensive product so the pricing is something that can be improved.""It can have more integration with orchestration or event management solutions. They can provide more knowledge or research information for analysts for investigating cases and detecting anomalies in networks.""It would be useful if there was a way to check to see if there are certain devices that are not in sync with the solution. I'm not sure if this is an option or not."

It costs more when you need get more features.""It is an expensive solution.""Price is certainly something that the IOS technology has fallen behind the competition on.""Palo Alto networks are more expensive than this solution and this is why you will see more products like this one in Mexico.""It is necessary to pay for a license in order to use the solution. It is on a yearly basis and the price is high."

"Our customers feel that the price of Darktrace is quite high compared to other solutions.""It was $3,600 a month or $2,000 plus or so. I am not sure. Its licensing is pretty simple.""This solution is expensive.""The price of the solution is not cheap. It is not a one-time purchase, there is a subscription that needs to be paid every one to five years depending on your choice. It is expensive but you can reduce the price by only using the services that you want.""If you consider the features and the cost of market leaders, we are satisfied with the pricing.""It is expensive.
