Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution is very user-friendly. After setting up five machines for our customers we teach them how to set up the agent and start doing their backups. It is very easy for them once they see how to do it, they like to do it on their own.""The backup capabilities and the automatization of the backup - along with the potential to make the back up on a virtual machine - are the solution's most valuable aspects.""This solution is very stable.""Data domain is a good feature.""The support for legacy products is very good.""The updated graphical interface is better than it used to be.""The GUI is user-friendly.""Simple, stable and straightforward."

"This solution is very flexible and user-friendly — it's very good. It's very good with our virtual and physical infrastructure.""The replication is the most valuable feature for us.""The restore capabilities are the most valuable features.""The most valuable feature is how reliable Veeam Backup is. It has the normal expected features that allow you to ensure that everything is backed up completely.""Features with the most value are Instant VM Recovery, SQL Explorer and Exchange Explorer.""The most valuable feature is the internal recovery.""The most valuable feature is adaptability, where it automatically adapts to the environment that it's being installed on.""They introduced a new feature called the Immutable Repository feature, which helps protect environments from malware attacks that target backup file extensions."

Cons
"The user interface has to be improved""It is a little buggy at times, which is the only thing that I dislike about this product.""When you're working with VMware, you need to use vProxy machines. You have to install the vProxy for every host in the VMware environment.""The user interface is hard to use, it should be simplified. There are a lot of web-based management interfaces which they should consider.""Support is definitely an area of concern because of the time it takes to resolve our issues.""I would like to see the user interface improved, more documentation, faster support, and it could be easier to configure.""Lacks a restore feature.""I would like to see better support for the container systems, and we would like to see more support for image backups instead of pure file backups."

"The one downside to Veeam is that they don't have a cloud product of their own.""In terms of what could be improved, when creating a backup job with Veeam, you can create a daily backup, but it doesn't do it within that job. It does not give you the ability to also set the terms for monthly and/or weekly backups. It has to be a separate job. It gets clunky to manage the timeframes where you don't want a daily to run on this day and creating weeklies. And you don't want a daily to run on this day doing monthlies. That is hard to deal with. It would be really nice if you could do it through a single command line or a single interface.""The price is an issue. If one has a large number of servers, say... 100-plus, and wishes to add more, an exhausted budget may hinder this ability.""The ease of use could be improved, but I don't have a very deep amount of experience in Veeam, so it's difficult to say what could be improved.""Veeam Backup & Replication should include a cloud solution.""The solution requires a lot of bandwidth.""The initial setup is complex.""I would like them to move back to host licensing."
