We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"You do not have to do everything through a command line which makes it a lot easier to apply rules.""The most valuable feature is the access control list (ACL).""Feature-wise, we mostly use IPS because it is a security requirement to protect against attacks from outside and inside. This is where IPS helps us out a bunch.""Its Snort 3 IPS has better flexibility as far as being able to write rules. This gives me better granularity.""There are no issues that we are aware of. It does its job silently in the background.""The most valuable features of this solution are the integrations and IPS throughput.""The most important features are the intrusion prevention engine and the application visibility and control. The Snort feature in Firepower is also valuable.""We have not had to deal with stability issues."

"The most valuable feature of this solution is the support.""The feature that we like the most about Forcepoint is that we know the technology and have confidence in it. We can have several functionalities to simplify operations and management. We can combine functionalities like log ownership to review the number of devices in the infrastructure.""It is a stable solution, and there are no issues so far.""The most valuable feature is the console management.""The people we deal with is a local partner in Cambodia and we can get good support from them.""Technical support has been quite helpful in the past.""When comparing this solution to others this one has better reporting, user management, and is easy to use.""I like the IPS. IPS is the master feature. I depend on the firewall and sandbox."

"The most valuable features are that it's user-friendly, has interesting features, URL filtering, and threat prevention.""Edge protection is a valuable feature.""For those who want a next-gen firewall that's easy to configure and easy to operate, I think you should go for Palo Alto.""Everything has been okay with the solution. We are using all of the features.""I like the solution's interface."

Cons
"They need a VTI. I know it's going to be available in the next software version, which is the 6.7 version. However, the problem with that is that the 6.7 is going to deprecate all the older IKEv1 deployment tunnels. Therefore, the problem is that we have a lot of customers which are using older encryptions. If I do that, update it, it's not going to work for me.""The intelligence has room for improvement. There are some hackers that we haven't seen before and its ability to detect those types of attacks needs to be improved.""The performance should be improved.""An area of improvement for this solution is the console visualization.""This product is managed using the Firepower Management Center (FMC), but it would be better if it also supported the command-line interface (CLI).""FirePOWER does a good job when it comes to providing us with visibility into threats, but I would like to see a more proactive stance to it.""Cisco Firepower NGFW Firewall can be more secure.""On the VPN side, Firepower could be better. It needs more monitoring on VPNs. Right now, it's not that good. You can set up a VPN in Firepower, but you can't monitor it."

"Its management center should be easier to use. The management interface of Forcepoint is unique and a little bit different from some of the firewall solutions on which people might have worked before. Sometimes, the customers say that it is not very friendly, and we help them with how to use this management interface. It just takes a little bit of time, and after some time, it gets easy to manage or use. It is quite similar to Palo Alto, Fortinet, and legacy Juniper solutions. Their support should be faster. We have received complaints that they are not responding fast, which is not good for the vendor and us.""They need to work on stability, it has not been the best in our experience.""Something that I've noticed that Forcepoint lacks, is the training that they offer to their end-customers""The network interface could be better, and it could be cheaper.""Forcepoint is a little difficult to configure compared to its competitors.""The solution needs to build upon its network functionality. It needs to be a bit smarter.""We feel the product's technical support could be better, as this relates to the solution itself, to the installation of the product, and to having a proper understanding of the case.""If I want to allow access to Facebook, yet not allow the user to access videos, then I am not able to do it with this product."

"Palo Alto's maintenance needs to be improved.""The pricing has improved with the newer generation of their Firewalls, but the price could always be lower. In comparison with other solutions, I believe they're quite competitive.""In terms of what needs improvement, the only thing I don't like is the support.""The technology firewall anomaly network could stand improvement.""The documentation needs to be improved. I need better information about how to configure it and what the best practices are."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"Pricing is the same as other competitors. It is comparable. The licensing has gotten better. It has been easier with Smart Licensing.""For me, personally, as an individual, Cisco Firepower NGFW Firewall is expensive.""It definitely competes with the other vendors in the market.""I know that licensing for some of the advanced solutions, like Intrusion Prevention and Secure Malware Analytics, are nominal costs.""Its pricing is good and competitive. There is a maintenance cost. It includes SecureX that makes it cost-effective as compared to the other solutions where you have to pay for XDR and SOAR capabilities.""The price is comparable.""The price of Firepower is not bad compared to other products.""The price for Firepower is more expensive than FortiGate. The licensing is very complex. We usually ask for help from Solutel because of its complexity. I have a Cisco account where I can download the VPN client, then connect. Instead, I create an issue with Solutel, then Solutel solves the case."

"The cost is fair, but it could be improved.""The pricing should be more competitive against other vendors in the market.""Everything in Forcepoint comes with an individual license, which is kind of a problem. In our last meeting, they said that it may change at the beginning of 2021, and they will try to merge some licenses together. Customers will get more features than what they got previously. We will wait and see.""We would love to take other solution from Forcepoint, but unfortunately the price is too high. That's why we are not considering using Forcepoing for our proxy and DLB. They have a very good DLB, but the matter in the end is the cost.""Forcepoint is very expensive but it's really secure.""The pricing of the solution is normally competitive with other products.""We have just a subscription for the cloud, and this license is great. The license is so good.""It is expensive."
