We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"Provides good integrations and reporting.""The most valuable feature is the access control list (ACL).""The most valuable feature is stability.""The integration of network and workload micro-segmentation helps a lot to provide unified segmentation policies across east-west and north-south traffic. One concrete example is with Cisco ACI for the data center. Not only are we doing what is called a service graph on the ACI to make sure that we can filter traffic east-west between two endpoints in the same network, but when we go north-south or east-west, we can then leverage what we have on the network with SGTs on Cisco ISE. Once you build your matrix, it is very easy to filter in and out on east-west or north-south traffic.""There are no issues that we are aware of. It does its job silently in the background.""We have not had to deal with stability issues.""Firepower has been used for quite a few enterprise clients. Most of our clients are Fortune 500 and Firepower is used to improve their end to end firewall functionality.""One of the most valuable features is the AMP. It's very good and very reliable when it comes to malicious activities, websites, and viruses."

"I like the IPS. IPS is the master feature. I depend on the firewall and sandbox.""Forcepoint Next Generation Firewall is very simple, easy to use, and flexible.""It is a scalable product. I know a customer who has deployed more than 4,000 firewalls in a single deployment.""I like the Firewall and the IPS.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the support.""Technical support has been quite helpful in the past.""When comparing this solution to others this one has better reporting, user management, and is easy to use.""The most valuable feature is SD-WAN."

"The technical support on offer is very good.""The IPS signatures and the IPS database that are given are much better than what is commonly available.""It integrates easily."

Cons
"They need a VTI. I know it's going to be available in the next software version, which is the 6.7 version. However, the problem with that is that the 6.7 is going to deprecate all the older IKEv1 deployment tunnels. Therefore, the problem is that we have a lot of customers which are using older encryptions. If I do that, update it, it's not going to work for me.""Cisco Firepower NGFW Firewall can be more secure.""It's mainly the UI and the management parts that need improvement. The most impactful feature when you're using it is the user interface and the user experience.""The price and SD-WAN capabilities are the areas that need improvement.""On the VPN side, Firepower could be better. It needs more monitoring on VPNs. Right now, it's not that good. You can set up a VPN in Firepower, but you can't monitor it.""The initial setup was a bit complex. It wasn't a major challenge, but due to our requirements and network, it was not very straightforward but still easy enough.""The solution could offer better control that would allow the ability to restrictions certain features from a website.""One of the few things that are brought up is that for the overall management, it would be great to have a cloud instance of that. And not only just a cloud instance, but one of the areas that we've looked at is using an HA type of cloud. To have the ability to have a device file within a cloud. If we had an issue with one, the other one would pick up automatically."

"My team is looking for more throughput and better integration with our security framework.""The ability to dynamically change policies could be improved.""Making this solution easier to use would be an improvement.""They need to increase the local support here. There are also some bugs or fixes on which they need to work. They very well know about these bugs. In terms of licensing, I would like them to either increase the number of features in a single license or make licensing more flexible.""Something that I've noticed that Forcepoint lacks, is the training that they offer to their end-customers""Its management center should be easier to use. The management interface of Forcepoint is unique and a little bit different from some of the firewall solutions on which people might have worked before. Sometimes, the customers say that it is not very friendly, and we help them with how to use this management interface. It just takes a little bit of time, and after some time, it gets easy to manage or use. It is quite similar to Palo Alto, Fortinet, and legacy Juniper solutions. Their support should be faster. We have received complaints that they are not responding fast, which is not good for the vendor and us.""Forcepoint is a little difficult to configure compared to its competitors.""Forcepoint would be improved if there were more training available."

"It integrates well but it takes time.""The solution is pretty expensive.""We need more integration. It would be good if Azure IPS and TippingPoint IPS and other products from Trend Micro like their DBI and IWSVA could talk between each other."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"The solution was chosen because of its price compared to other similar solutions.""For me, personally, as an individual, Cisco Firepower NGFW Firewall is expensive.""There are additional implementation and validation costs.""The price of Firepower is not bad compared to other products.""The price for Firepower is more expensive than FortiGate. The licensing is very complex. We usually ask for help from Solutel because of its complexity. I have a Cisco account where I can download the VPN client, then connect. Instead, I create an issue with Solutel, then Solutel solves the case.""Cisco pricing is premium. However, they gave us a 50 to 60 percent discount.""I know that licensing for some of the advanced solutions, like Intrusion Prevention and Secure Malware Analytics, are nominal costs.""Its price is in the middle range. Both Firepower and FortiGate are not cheap. Palo Alto and Check Point are the cheapest ones. I don't remember any costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."

"Everything in Forcepoint comes with an individual license, which is kind of a problem. In our last meeting, they said that it may change at the beginning of 2021, and they will try to merge some licenses together. Customers will get more features than what they got previously. We will wait and see.""We have just a subscription for the cloud, and this license is great. The license is so good.""The pricing should be more competitive against other vendors in the market.""I consider Forcepoint Next Generation Firewall's price to be good.""The pricing of the solution is normally competitive with other products.""The training that they offer to their end-customers. It's quite expensive, I believe it costs roughly $11,000""We have found the price could be reduced. It is a little expensive.""It is expensive."
