We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"Stability-wise, it's good. I have never encountered any bugs.""Cisco Umbrella is such a solution and can be implemented very fast and easy. All that we must do is redirect the DNS registers in their routers, or the active directory service of the enterprise that are going to use in Umbrella services. If you buy the service now, in two hours you are protected by the service because it's very fast to put in service.""I like that it integrates with the infrastructure. I also like the kind of data and intelligence that's built-in. It helps create innovative reports for security.""What we like most is security and how easy it is to integrate with other appliances.""The most valuable feature is the website protection capabilities because it prevents end-users from entering bad sites that potentially have malware or could be used for phishing.""Provides dependable DNS monitoring of external devices.""I haven't found any issues related to latency or any other issue.""I have found the malware protection feature valuable. It is helpful and deliverable and is able to protect my entire organization from getting compromised. It also prevents us from visiting any malicious sites which are not visible to the users."

"For the most part, the solution, when set up correctly, works fine.""The feature that I find to be most valuable is the flexibility of the single endpoint.""It has got a really good URL categorization database. It is simple to set up. It is also easy to use and quite intuitive. It has got a nice utility for troubleshooting.""I have found the web content filtering and malware filter the most valuable.""The GUI is quite nice.""In terms of performance, Forcepoint stands out because it is more scalable than any other solution. It can extend to different types of boxes and integrate well with other platforms and vendors. And it doesn't need to have the same kind of box or throughput to have high availability.""In terms of functionality, Forcepoint is the best web proxy available.""One of the main features I have found the solution to be efficient."

"For our needs, the cloud-native proxy architecture is a very good solution. We are moving away from on-prem appliances and moving more toward cloud-based solutions. Zscaler is a good fit for our strategy. This architecture helps with cyber threats because we inspect most of the traffic and we can see that a lot of threats are stopped directly in the secure web gateway.""The scanning feature is impressive, because they do not introduce a big latency to the traffic.""The security is excellent.""Zscaler Internet Access protects using data loss prevention. If you have a CASB exposing your cloud out into the network, then Zscaler Internet Access will go ahead and control that unknown cloud application in the CASB, protecting it. There is also data detection with exact data match. This improves the data coming into your cloud so you are protecting it.""The VPN is valuable, as the whole technology is very different from a traditional VPN."

Cons
"Cisco Umbrella should introduce an on-premises device.""The product can be pretty expensive.""I would like to see more integrability with other products.""It should have more integrations with multiple end user OEMs.""We would like to see the enhancements made to the EDR, as we see features that are running endpoint management.""Actually, we recently switched over to Zscaler because it has more features and it's more scalable than Cisco Umbrella.""Missing a real data leakage prevention solution.""The reporting could be improved by way of the information that's displayed. For example, when you pull a report, it shows an internal employee going to many websites, but you can spin that right down by saying a lot of it is being cached."

More Cisco Umbrella Cons »

"Overall the software is occupying too much memory space. If they could remedy that, it would be a better experience, because today Windows is occupying too much memory space as well (in terms of the RAM), and this software has also started occupying all the memory. Due to this, I have less space for my other office products and data. I can't, for example, operate a huge Excel sheet or other datasets.""We have a lot of false positives, which is one area that can be improved.""We are using a V10000 G3 appliance. It is just a proxy. It is just HTTP, FTP, and HTTPS. Now, as our website has developed and we are using rich time-connectivity protocols, the proxy doesn't have the ability to work with these protocols. It would be nice if the UDP feature was there for it to filter UDP traffic. It needs firewall capabilities for UDP filtering. Its upgrades can be quite complex, and they don't always go as per the plan. Its reporting could be a bit more granular.""I have been in contact with technical support several times, and I am not happy with them.""The solution should be better able to support itself and operate faster. Sometimes the technical support team takes too long to respond.""But the deployment could be easier. It might take from one day to three days. Usually, that involves an engineer from the vendor and a working team at the enterprise.""Sometimes attacks or a new ransomware gets through.""A feature we wish to see addressed in the next release of Forcepoint Secure Web Gateway involves its administration."

More Forcepoint Secure Web Gateway Cons »

"I would like to see the ability to choose a pool of IPs for my company, set up rules based on them, and know that those IPs are not used by other companies.""An improvement would be if they could provide an out-of-the-box experience, like 20 to 30 features all ready to go. In comparison, LogRhythm offers out-of-the-box features. With Zscaler Internet Access, there is firewall IPS, multiple security services, filtering, DLP, and CASB browser isolation. These are things that all users are going to be using. However, when an administrator or architect would start building this, I would definitely need to engage professional services to help clients do it.""There are a few features that are not compatible with the Azure cloud.""I don't know whether it's Zscaler or not, however, sometimes I can't access my time management. I need to wait and try again a few hours later. Typically, if I let some time pass, I can access it again.""The reporting functionality could be a bit easier to use. There is a reporting function, but it's quite hard to do any good reporting, from a user-management perspective. For example, if a department manager wants to know how his department is using the web, there is a way to get the data, but it's quite cumbersome to get it and show it well. And that's true for comparing between departments."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"Cisco Umbrella is expensive and could be cheaper.""Cisco uses subscription models for the pricing and there are three subscription plans.""The price is quite good.""I am not sure, I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I think it's $1.00 or so per device/month.""There are three models for licensing with different feature sets.""I think it's worth the money.""The licensing fee is paid on a yearly basis.""The price should be slightly lower than the current price because if you look at the whole solution, it is simply a threat intelligence solution to block blacklisted things. The price should be lower looking at the features provided by the solution. The price isn't too high either, but it could be lower."

More Cisco Umbrella Pricing and Cost Advice »

"The price of this product should be reduced to make it more competitive.""Overall, I am not aware of the option to pay for one time use of Forcepoint Secure Web Gateway.""Licensing is flexible. License pricing information is based on the customer, their environment, and on the future approach.""The licensing is not expensive.""The price of this solution is reasonable.""The solution is priced a little high compare to similar solutions."
