Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
"Stability-wise, it's good. I have never encountered any bugs.""What we like most is security and how easy it is to integrate with other appliances.""Provides dependable DNS monitoring of external devices.""We like Cisco Umbrella because of DNS security. It's one step ahead of whatever we are using for regular web filtering. In that way, it's more secure than other web filtering products.""Helps block personal email accounts.""Cisco Umbrella is absolutely stable.""I haven't found any issues related to latency or any other issue.""Its simplicity is most valuable. I can install it and get it up and running, and it can be pervasive across my business within a business day. It is pretty simple and straightforward to install and configure. Its remit is reasonably clearly defined. When you look at solutions like Darktrace and Carbon Black, the mission objective isn't as clearly defined. Cisco Umbrella, Sophos Central, or some of the other solutions have a more standardized approach to antivirus, which includes enhanced response from the machine learning or deep learning perspective."

"It has the same functionalities throughout the range of products.""The overall features of Fortinet FortiGate SWG are good.""The performance is very good and the solution is simple to manage.""The security for endpoints is the most valuable. It is very secure for our workers. It allows us to secure a transaction and enable security for a specific segment in the workflow.""It is simpler to configure. It is not like Cisco Firepower, where you go crazy trying to follow the Cisco documentation to figure out how to configure one little thing. Unlike Cisco Firepower, where you can't do everything through the web interface and you have got to do some command line stuff, Fortinet FortiGate SWG is simpler. There are four different things in Cisco to get in, which is not the case with Fortinet FortiGate SWG. It is one of my favorite solutions to work with. I would much rather work with it than Cisco Firepower, for example. Even though I've got 20 years of Cisco experience with different firewalls, I would much prefer this solution.""FortiGate is easy to use, and I also like its VPN."

"The security of Trend Micro Web Security is good.""It's secure and useful from an administrative point of view, with controllable login monitoring and so on.""The most valuable feature is machine learning, which automatically monitors the activity on the machine."

"This solution does not give us full, 360-degree protection.""It could be improved by having a local data center and caching, which can provide protection support. I would like to be able to channel my intel and my network traffic to their clouds, and this feature is not available. Advanced protection or any malware file support, which might be required, is not available.""The pricing is a bit high. Being outside of the USA, we have issues with the exchange rate.""Looking at the full umbrella suite in the light of SASE, Secure Access Service Edge, they are clearly lacking in the inline CASB.""One of the issues with Umbrella is as you get into endpoint detection and response, such as EDR point solutions, some of them will not integrate well with Umbrella. Sometimes when you want to use technology, such as Always On VPN, it will not work. There are some looming issues as one type of technology starts to crossover with Umbrella. That is the challenge and Umbrella should find a way to be more compatible with some of the endpoint response solutions that are coming out on the market.""I would like to see more integrability with other products.""There are cheaper solutions in the market""The API is very Cisco orientated, which is absolutely fine if you're using Cisco Firepower and SecureX kind of products, but if you want to integrate with third parties, it is a bit tricky. There are some key API connectors for the more prevalent SIEM tools. I would really like to see in Cisco Umbrella the ability to create customized reports and then assign the rights to view these reports to people within a group. I should be able to create a customized report, which is viewable by anybody who has the rights. I should be able to create groups within Cisco Umbrella, and then assign reports to groups and have those reports split out automatically only to those groups. I can kind of do it by restricting my email list, but it is a half-complete way of doing it."

More Cisco Umbrella Cons →

"I would like the deployment and integration of this product to be easier. We should be able to deploy the features more easily and have different types of access. It should be easier to integrate. Currently, we need to develop APIs to use this interface.""The solution could improve by having some additional features, such as IBS and better cloud administration.""The solution has many heightened points which we cannot get to without working on CLI.""FortiGate's reporting features could provide a better picture of what is happening in the box.""They have not yet extended to the cloud.""Their technical support could be improved a little bit in terms of responsiveness."

More Fortinet FortiGate SWG Cons →

"The system should generate reports when an attack has been stopped, contained, or removed.""There are multiple ways Web Security could improve, such as usability and web access to several programming modes.""I would like to see better scalability and better performance."
