We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"What we like most is security and how easy it is to integrate with other appliances.""Cisco Umbrella is a totally different solution. They are the first to come up with this idea of security. It's a totally new concept of security for everybody, for every time, real time, perfectionism.""We've found it to be stable and good for our customers.""It analyzes the domain security helps us implement the securest policy.""Stability-wise, it's good. I have never encountered any bugs.""The solution is very easy to manage. We found the initial setup, for example, to be quite simple.""Cisco Umbrella is such a solution and can be implemented very fast and easy. All that we must do is redirect the DNS registers in their routers, or the active directory service of the enterprise that are going to use in Umbrella services. If you buy the service now, in two hours you are protected by the service because it's very fast to put in service.""Provides dependable DNS monitoring of external devices."

"The most valuable features of Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection are the services, DHCP, and debugging. Additionally, we can use APIs and ansible scripts.""Infoblox offers granularity and advanced DNS protection to mitigate DNS attacks. It's a very secure solution.""The security of the solution is perfect. It's very good at protecting us from attacks."

"The VPN is valuable, as the whole technology is very different from a traditional VPN.""For our needs, the cloud-native proxy architecture is a very good solution. We are moving away from on-prem appliances and moving more toward cloud-based solutions. Zscaler is a good fit for our strategy. This architecture helps with cyber threats because we inspect most of the traffic and we can see that a lot of threats are stopped directly in the secure web gateway.""Zscaler Internet Access protects using data loss prevention. If you have a CASB exposing your cloud out into the network, then Zscaler Internet Access will go ahead and control that unknown cloud application in the CASB, protecting it. There is also data detection with exact data match. This improves the data coming into your cloud so you are protecting it.""We don't have to buy equipment to use it. And when our engineers set it up on our side, we just configured a few settings and we were in.""The data loss prevention feature is the most valuable. It stops our users from inadvertently leaking our customers' data to the Internet or anywhere else it shouldn't go.""Zscaler Internet Access has helped us reduce the time that we spend managing security policies by about four hours a week. We can use this time to focus on other things, especially the IT team.""The security is excellent."

Cons
"One of the issues with Umbrella is as you get into endpoint detection and response, such as EDR point solutions, some of them will not integrate well with Umbrella. Sometimes when you want to use technology, such as Always On VPN, it will not work. There are some looming issues as one type of technology starts to crossover with Umbrella. That is the challenge and Umbrella should find a way to be more compatible with some of the endpoint response solutions that are coming out on the market.""Actually, we recently switched over to Zscaler because it has more features and it's more scalable than Cisco Umbrella.""I would like them to make some videos, practical videos, the kind with steps that people can use to learn and deploy""The product can be pretty expensive.""Missing a real data leakage prevention solution.""It should have a real-time malware classification engine. It should check the malware on the website. It would be good if it had a real-time malware check for the websites because currently, it just compares the DNS queries of the blacklist. It should also have malware control over file execution and the types of files that the users are allowed to download.""I think it's a very basic solution, and because of that, Cisco Umbrella would not be a suitable solution for large companies.""In the next release, I would like to see the integration of VDI NSX with Cisco Umbrella."

More Cisco Umbrella Cons →

"The service monitoring information could be simplified of this appliance and the information displayed on the dashboards could be improved. I have not found one dashboard to be perfect. For example, in Splunk, I can create a dashboard in Grafana. However, in Grafana, it takes a very long time to create them. There should be another API to do it better.""There needs to be more capabilities in order to configure the console itself instead of the user interface dashboard. Configuring the DNS or DHCP through the console instead of the GUI dashboard would be better.""There should be better alerts for when attacks are happening."

More Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection Cons →

"I don't know whether it's Zscaler or not, however, sometimes I can't access my time management. I need to wait and try again a few hours later. Typically, if I let some time pass, I can access it again.""There are a few features that are not compatible with the Azure cloud.""They could provide more time for the onboarding the training of an IT person.""The reporting functionality could be a bit easier to use. There is a reporting function, but it's quite hard to do any good reporting, from a user-management perspective. For example, if a department manager wants to know how his department is using the web, there is a way to get the data, but it's quite cumbersome to get it and show it well. And that's true for comparing between departments.""One thing that they could improve is the ability to import rules from other platforms.""An improvement would be if they could provide an out-of-the-box experience, like 20 to 30 features all ready to go. In comparison, LogRhythm offers out-of-the-box features. With Zscaler Internet Access, there is firewall IPS, multiple security services, filtering, DLP, and CASB browser isolation. These are things that all users are going to be using. However, when an administrator or architect would start building this, I would definitely need to engage professional services to help clients do it.""I would like to see more training and video documentation."

  • "The licensing part for Umbrella is really flexible."
  • "There are three models for licensing with different feature sets."
  • "I think it's worth the money."
  • "The price of Cisco Umbrella is a little higher than similar solutions, like Gateway."

The price should be lower looking at the features provided by the solution. The price isn't too high either, but it could be lower."
