We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"Another of my favorite features is called the Device Trajectory, where it shows everything that's going on, on a computer. It shows the point in time when a virus is downloaded, so you can see if the user was surfing the internet or had a program open. It shows every running process and file access on the computer and saves it like a snapshot when it detects something malicious. It also has a File Trajectory, so you can even see if that file has been found on any of your other computers that have AMP.""One of the best features of AMP is its cloud feature. It doesn't matter where the device is in regards to whether it's inside or outside of your network environment, especially right now when everybody's remote and taken their laptops home. You don't have to be VPNed into the environment for AMP to work. AMP will work anywhere in the world, as long as it has an Internet connection. You get protection and reporting with it. No matter where the device is, AMP has still got coverage on it and is protecting it. You still have the ability to manage and remediate things. The cloud feature is the magic bullet. This is what makes the solution a valuable tool as far as I'm concerned.""If somebody has been compromised, the question always is: How has it affected other devices in the network? Cisco AMP gives you a very neat view of that.""The most valuable feature is signature-based malware detection.""Any alert that we get is an actionable alert. Immediately, there is information that we can just click through, see the point in time, what happened, what caused it, and what automatic actions were taken. We can then choose to take any manual actions, if we want, or start our investigation. We're no longer looking at digging into information or wading through hundreds of incidents. There's a list which says where the status is assigned, e.g., under investigation or investigation finished. That is all in the console. It has taken away a lot of the administration, which we would normally be doing, and integrated it into the console for us.""It is a very stable program.""Integration is a key selling factor for Cisco security products. We have a Cisco Enterprise Agreement with access to Cisco Email Security, Cisco Firepower, Cisco Stealthwatch, Cisco Talos, Cisco Threat Grid, Cisco Umbrella, and also third-party solutions. This is key to our security and maximizing operations. Because we do have the Email Security appliance and it is integrated with Threat Response, we have everything tied together. Additionally, we are using the Cisco SecureX platform, as we were a beta test for that new solution. With SecureX, we are able to pull all those applications into one pane for visibility and maintenance. This greatly maximizes our security operations.""The solution's integration capabilities are excellent. It's one of the best features."

"The reporting feature is good. Also, the device control is good.""Endpoint Security is efficient and easy to use. It doesn't slow the performance of your personal computer.""I like that we can use it across all the platforms like PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, and all systems for protection. I also like that we can use it for different cloud sessions and different unified systems. It's available on all the vulnerability assessments including, web filtering, email filtering, test protection, anomaly control, and management. There are more than enough benefits available on Kaspersky.""We have had no troubles installing, maintaining, or deploying the product for our clients.""I like the security that this solution provides.""I like that Kaspersky isn't heavy.""Overall, the product is quite flexible.""There is plenty of features that make the solution work very well."

"There do not seem to be any limitations to the scalability of this product.""It is easy to interact with, and its cost is also good.""The solution is overall quite good, the services are performing well. It is very good for those who are using standard PC configurations. It does not block their system up by taking up a lot of resources.""The thing that I like about it is the synchronized security. You can tie endpoint protection and firewalls and a whole range of other services and products. You can get your servers taken in under this.""Synchronization with the firewall is most valuable.""Machine learning is used to detect the threat and it does so by prioritizing the suspicious activities.""It's a good antivirus software and has a lot of features. It now integrates with their on-premises firewall, which is perfect.""It is not just a simple virus scanning product. It handles more advanced needs."

Cons
"...the greatest value of all, would be to make the security into a single pane of glass. Whilst these products are largely integrated from a Talos perspective, they're not integrated from a portal perspective. For example, we have to look at an Umbrella portal and a separate AMP portal. We also have to look at a separate portal for the firewalls. If I could wave a magic wand and have one thing, I would put all the Cisco products into one, simple management portal.""Maybe there is room for improvement in some of the automated remediation. We have other tools in place that AMP feeds into that allow for that to happen, so I look at it as one seamless solution. But if you're buying AMP all by itself, I don't know if it can remove malicious software after the fact or if it requires the other tools that we use to do some of that.""The connector updates are very easily done now, and that's improving. Previously, the connector had an issue, where almost every time it needed to be updated, it required a machine reboot. This was always a bit of an inconvenience and a bug. Because with a lot of software now, you don't need to do that and shouldn't need to be rebooting all the time.""The room for improvement would be on event notifications. I have mine tuned fairly well. I do feel that if you subscribe to all the event notification types out-of-the-box, or don't really go through and take the time to filter out events, the notifications can become overwhelming with information. Sometimes, when you're overwhelmed with information, you just say, "I'm not going to look at anything because I'm receiving so much." I recommend the vendor come up with a white paper on the best practices for event notifications.""We don't have issues. We think that Cisco covers all of the security aspects on the market. They continue to innovate in the right way.""We had a lot of noise at the beginning, and we had to turn it down based on exclusions, application whitelisting, and excluding unknown benign applications. Cisco should understand the need for continuous updates on the custom Cisco exclusions and the custom applications that come out-of-the-box with the AMP for Endpoints.""The one challenge that I see is the use of multiple endpoint protection platforms. For instance, we have AMP, but we also have Microsoft Windows Defender, System Center Endpoint Protection, and Microsoft Malware Protection Engine deployed. So, we have a bunch of different things that do the same thing. What winds up happening is, e.g., if I get an alert for a potential incident or malware and want to pull the file, I'll go to fetch the file to analyze it. But, one of these other programs has already gotten it, so the file has already been quarantined by another endpoint protection system. AMP doesn't realize that and the file fetch fails, then you're left wondering what's going on.""In Orbital, there are tons of prebuilt queries, but there is not a lot of information in lay terms. There isn't enough information to help us with what we're looking for and why we are looking for it with this query. There are probably a dozen queries in there that really focus on what I need to focus on, but they are not always easy to find the first time through."

"The stability could be better.""The solution could be a lot lighter. You really feel it when the laptop starts.""This product could be improved by integration with Linux. The one limitation this product has is that it's not compatible with and doesn't offer protection for Linux servers. It could also be easier to configure.""We have had some problems with it comes to uninstalling it, so you have to make sure that you do everything right.""They should continue to put more security measures in place in order to make it more robust.""It's very heavy and it affects the computer's performance.""It would be nice if it was less expensive.""When we connect to the solutions' website they block out our VPN connection. This causes us some difficulties."

More Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business Cons »

"The initial setup can be a bit challenging.""I have not done it, but integrating it with authenticating the users on the Windows system looks a bit complicated to me. It could be because I don't understand it.""When there is an event generated by either the firewall or Intercept X, and the originating IP address is the same, these should be merged into a single event rather than two.""The solution is heavy in the usage of resources, you can notice the performance decrease. This should prove in the future.""Mobile device management is a challenging area, and it can be improved. Some areas in the DLP solution can also be improved. It has the DLP capability, but it is not an all-out DLP program. I would like to see them improve the DLP solution in terms of reporting and possibly network monitoring. Currently, they only do the reporting parts of it.""It has a performance hit on a local laptop. There's an agent installed and we are bothered a lot by it because it seems to be using a lot of computer resources.""They need to focus on their SLA or technical support. They also need to focus on their UI. They should also improve their content filtering tool and update it so that correct categories are there. Sometimes, when I want to block an online gaming website, it is not shown under the correct category. It is shown under another category. They need to review their content filtering tool on a bi-weekly or monthly basis and update the sites and categories. This will be really helpful for them.""When I use a proxy, I can bypass Sophos, which is an area that needs improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"The Enterprise Agreement is like an all-you-can-eat buffet of Cisco products. In that vein, it was very affordable.""The visibility that we have into the endpoint and the forensics that we're able to collect give us value for the price. This is not an overly expensive solution, considering all the things that are provided. You get great performance and value for the cost.""In our case, it is a straightforward annual payment through our Enterprise Agreement.""There is also the Cisco annual subscription plus my management time in terms of what I do with the Cisco product. I spend a minimal amount of time on it though, just rolling out updates as they need them and monitoring the console a couple of times a day to ensure nothing is out of control. Cost-wise, we are quite happy with it.""The pricing and licensing are reasonable. The cost of AMP for Endpoints is inline with all the other software that has a monthly endpoint cost. It might be a little bit higher than other antivirus type products, but we're only talking about a dollar a month per user. I don't see that cost as being an issue if it's going to give us the confidence and security that we're looking for. We have had a lot of success and happiness with what we're using, so there's no point in changing.""Our company was very happy with the price of Cisco AMP. It was about a third of what we were paying for System Center Endpoint Protection.""There are a couple of different consumption models: Pay up front, or if you have an enterprise agreement, you can do a monthly thing. Check your licensing possibilities and see what's best for your organization.""We can know if something bad is potentially happening instantaneously and prevent it from happening. We can go to a device and isolate it before it infects other devices. In our environment, that's millions of dollars saved in a matter of seconds."

"It's an affordable security solution.""We pay a yearly annual subscription for this product.""I prefer paying for a yearly license because it has some discounts. One of the companies I work for pays for the Business Select license, for 100 users.""We have a yearly license, and the pricing is fine.""Licensing fees are paid annually.""For 300 nodes, we pay about 15,000 Malaysian Ringgit ($3,500 USD).""The price of the solution is reasonable. It is less costly compared to competitors.""We have an annual license and there is a fee per device used. The price is fair compared to the latest EDR solution."

More Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business Pricing and Cost Advice »

"The solution requires an annual subscription.""We have bought a three-year license.""You are able to purchase more licenses for the number of devices or servers that you require. There are many other features available but our license does not include them, such as XDR, which is endpoint detection and response. We have not explored the new features as of yet but plan to in the coming future.""While I do not have much experience dealing with the price, we have been entitled to a substantial discount on the solution in our use of it as an educational tool.""The price of this product should be reduced because it is a little high.""The price of this solution is reasonable.""Its price depends on the scenario. It is very expensive, but it is not more expensive than other vendors. The price of Check Point and other vendors is much higher than Sophos.""One can pay for the license annually, or at two and five year intervals."

I recommend that you take a look at Tanium’s industry-leading EDR and TR platform for Full Visibility, Compliance, TR, and virtual management either on-premise or via TaaS. The Tanium agent is lightweight, doesn’t require any additional infrastructure, and due to its patented architecture allows managed devices to work together at the edge.
