Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Its simplicity is most valuable. I can install it and get it up and running, and it can be pervasive across my business within a business day. It is pretty simple and straightforward to install and configure. Its remit is reasonably clearly defined. When you look at solutions like Darktrace and Carbon Black, the mission objective isn't as clearly defined. Cisco Umbrella, Sophos Central, or some of the other solutions have a more standardized approach to antivirus, which includes enhanced response from the machine learning or deep learning perspective.""The solution is extremely stable. It has excellent performance.""The security and access control features.""The most valuable feature is the ability to block users from reaching places that they should not even try to reach has been a boon.""The solution is very easy to manage. We found the initial setup, for example, to be quite simple.""I haven't found any issues related to latency or any other issue.""What we like most is security and how easy it is to integrate with other appliances.""Stability-wise, it's good. I have never encountered any bugs."

"The solution has some useful features, such as microservices. They have sandboxing that allows the prevention, encryption, and remote browser isolation.""It is for secure web trafficking, and it is doing what it needs to do. It allows customers to consolidate and eliminate multiple technologies onto Netskope and just kind of turn the dial and use more features, such as CASB, VPN. SWG is another feature. You can monitor and govern all the traffic.""One of the valuable features of the solution is that everything is on the cloud. It has no on-premise hardware to deal with.""We've found the solution to be quite stable."

"It's secure and useful from an administrative point of view, with controllable login monitoring and so on.""The most valuable feature is machine learning, which automatically monitors the activity on the machine.""The security of Trend Micro Web Security is good."

Cons
"It could be improved by having a local data center and caching, which can provide protection support. I would like to be able to channel my intel and my network traffic to their clouds, and this feature is not available. Advanced protection or any malware file support, which might be required, is not available.""Actually, we recently switched over to Zscaler because it has more features and it's more scalable than Cisco Umbrella.""Looking at the full umbrella suite in the light of SASE, Secure Access Service Edge, they are clearly lacking in the inline CASB.""This solution does not give us full, 360-degree protection.""User interface could be a little smoother and more intuitive.""In the next release, I would like to see the integration of VDI NSX with Cisco Umbrella.""One of the issues with Umbrella is as you get into endpoint detection and response, such as EDR point solutions, some of them will not integrate well with Umbrella. Sometimes when you want to use technology, such as Always On VPN, it will not work. There are some looming issues as one type of technology starts to crossover with Umbrella. That is the challenge and Umbrella should find a way to be more compatible with some of the endpoint response solutions that are coming out on the market.""It should have a real-time malware classification engine. It should check the malware on the website. It would be good if it had a real-time malware check for the websites because currently, it just compares the DNS queries of the blacklist. It should also have malware control over file execution and the types of files that the users are allowed to download."

More Cisco Umbrella Cons →

"The initial setup is a bit complex in that it takes a lot of time. In order to get the product to work as you need it to, there is a lot of configuration required.""Cost competitiveness is its area of improvement. They will have to figure out how can they strategically price it because there are a few players in the game who have been doing it for a long time. They will have to figure out how to go to market on the pricing.""The stability of the solution to be very good. It is not the best and could improve but it is better than other solutions, such as Forcepoint.""The solution could improve the features for Zero Trust Network Access. They should add more security components to that module."

More Netskope Next Gen Secure Web Gateway Cons →

"The system should generate reports when an attack has been stopped, contained, or removed.""I would like to see better scalability and better performance.""There are multiple ways Web Security could improve, such as usability and web access to several programming modes."

  • "I think it's worth the money."
