We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"Quorum OnQ has a good ransomware protection feature, and customer service and support were very good.""I like this product because it is easy to use.""It does automated tests to the systems to make sure that you could spin them up if you needed to. And if something doesn't come back up in those tests, we get a notification saying the system didn't come back up.""A very high level security environment for secondary data.""The change in the way that Quorum processes data has made a tremendous improvement in backup and replication times. While the familiar interface remains, the underpinnings have been finely tuned and the speed is incredible. My large Exchange Server went from 5- to 6-hour backups down to 22 minutes.""The most useful feature is the one-click recovery.""It's easy to implement, easy to spin up, easily configurable, to drop-in appliances and network. There wasn't a lot of time needed to spin it up.""One of the biggest features is that, even on the absolutely run-of-the-mill box, if I lose any one of my servers I can automatically bring it up virtually on the physical onQ Quorum device."

"One of the main features of the solution is it is easy to use.""The solution is easy to use and stable and can be made to fit one's needs.""I want an additional copy of my data in the Office cloud and it works.""Its ability to restore at the item level is very valuable. It is very strong at that. In the past, we had to restore a lot of data only for a couple of items. We can now restore an item as well as an email, which is good for productivity.""The product is easy-to-use.""The installation process is very easy.""Technical support in Veeam is good.""The most valuable feature is that we don't need different agents to back up our files from different accounts."

Cons
"Lacks compatibility in terms of supporting other OS.""It feels to me like it's going to be a little bit more work than I originally anticipated when upgrading the appliance. I haven't done that yet so I can't speak from true experience, but I went through the project plan and it feels to me like there's quite a number of pieces and components and things that have to be done. Quorum is going to manage the rollout, but in starting the initial conversation there were a lot of unanswered questions""The one thing they could do is some tweaking on the web solution that's supposed to monitor everything from one page, rather than having to bring each server up on its own webpage. It doesn't always accurately show what the system's state is at the time, and we have to restart that process now and then.""It would be beneficial if file culling could be more granular.""I would really like it if they followed comparable products from other vendors and had an option where you could offload to tape. I know it sounds incredibly antiquated, but the benefit I see is that there would be a better air gap than you have with backing up to an online source.""Better integration with cloud-based solutions like Azure and Office 365 is needed.""One thing that could be done to improve it would be a single pane of glass for doing disaster recovery testing, where I could have remote consoles in one place... I still have to go to each location in a browser and then bring up the console. I'd like to see them integrate that into a single pane of glass so I don't have to go to each server.""The user interface needs to be improved."

"The solution should have backup integration features, not just concerning mail but also when it comes to such solutions as SharePoint.""We have found that there is a limitation in this solution where it only takes the backup of users who are using Office 365 Enterprise email IDs. We have many users in management and approximately 50 other users who are using Office 365 of which Veeam is able to capture the backup. However, for the other users who are on the local email server at that time, the solution is not able to capture the backup.""When you add a new site for backup, it gives you a notice that there is a new site, but the way you select that and configure that could be slightly better. It works, but it is not always very clear. For example, for the URL, you need to hover over the title or the name of the site. You should see it immediately on the screen. It should have a better user interface for selecting what you want to back up so that you get a more clear overview of the sites that are there and the ones that you want to combine in a backup. Its user interface should be more user-friendly. It has a lot of scrolling and doesn't give you a complete overview when needed. That's the main thing why it is not very user-friendly. It should have a better user interface.""Its price could be improved.""When you are working in the Cloud security is very important.""The solution could offer better reporting.""While I don't have a use case in mind, it would be great if they could integrate more automation capabilities into the solution.""The documentation for the installation is good. However, if you are new to the environment the installation could be difficult. The first time we did it it took approximately four days."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"When we quote the price of Quorum to customers, they find it expensive.""The initial expenditure for us was a little under $40,000 for the recent renewal. For the first three years after that, other than electricity, there's no cost. After that, their support contract has to be renewed annually. We spent close to $6,000, between the two offices, for support.""The pricing is about $1,400 a month. It's a little bit on the higher side. But it's one of those situations where time is valuable for me. So if it costs a little bit more money for me to have a solution that just works and requires less of my day-to-day management, I'm willing to pay a little bit more."

"There is an annual license required and a per-user fee for this solution.""It is not the cheapest solution in the market.""The licensing price is quite high. It's expensive.""It is strictly subscribed on a per-user basis.""We are talking about a third party solution, so there is a licensing fee.""We looked at a few cloud options. When we did the comparison, we found it to be a cost-effective solution, and it included everything.""I have a per-user license for the number of users and the mailboxes that I have.""We decided on Altaro because, from the point of view of the total cost, Altaro looks cheaper than Veeam. Veeam has a lot of costs that are not clear when you start it, which makes it less flexible than Altaro, but only after half a year, you can be really sure that you made a good decision."
