The pricing of this product should be about 10-20% lower.

I believe that these devices were procured with a five-year maintenance and support license up front. I work at a university, so the vendor provides a considerable higher ed discount.

The license depends on the storage capacity. If you want to take a log of up to 1 gigabyte daily, it's free, if I remember correctly. But if you want 5 gigabytes daily, it's licensed at different prices. The cost of FortiAnalyzer could be cheaper, especially when you are installing to a VM. For 90 percent of customers, the VM solution is enough.

In the local market sometimes people are being charged more than other solutions. Although the market is competitive, legitimate suppliers do not receive a large enough discount to pass onto the customers. Fortinet FortiAnalyzer is not suitable for everyone, it is best suited for mid-sized businesses but if the price could be reduced there would be more customers in all-sized businesses.

The pricing isn't the least expensive on the market. They could work to improve it to make it more interesting for other companies. Adjusting pricing might be a good move.

When you compare with other firewall vendors, FortiAnalyzer is quite competitive in pricing. They are very aggressive as well.

I don't handle the licensing or the costs. I can't speak to how much it is for our company or if it is expensive or affordable. I'm not privy to that kind of information. That said, it's my understanding, as a comparison, that Fortinet products are cheaper than their Cisco counterparts.

It is not very expensive when customers understand the value of this product and the importance of the information that it provides for security.

When comparing with other solutions such as Checkpoint and Cisco, Fortinet is priced well.

The pricing of this solution is fair, and it is based on what you can manage. There are no costs in addition to the licensing fees.

This program is quite expensive. We have to renew the hardware every year and the hardware is very expensive. And we need to renew the licensing for application control too.

The price is quite expensive. Fortinet products are very expensive. That is something which they should also look at, because if you compare Fortinet product to, say, Sophos for example, Fortinet is really high and that's the only thing which is a drawback for most users. Although their plan is a value-for-money appliance, the price is expensive.

Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis. We have several products including Fortinet Wireless, FortiGate Firewalls, and FortiAnalyzer, which are bundled together and cost approximately $50,000 USD annually. We don't pay anything else in addition to the standard licensing fees.
